read moreThe ASEAN Travel Forum (ATF) returns to the Philippines for its 35th event this week, expecting to welcome 1,600 international delegates including ministerial officials, exhibitors, buyers, media and other tourism industry professionals from 50 countries.
Running from the 20th to 22nd January and based at Manila’s Entertainment City, ATF 2016 activities including the TRAVEX travel trade market and are being presented with the theme ‘One Community for Sustainability’.
The event will see the launch the new ASEAN Tourism Strategic Plan (ATSP) 2016 - 2020, aims to not only the develop and growth of the region’s tourism, but to also ensure that this growth is grounded on responsible, sustainable, and inclusive tourism.
The event also aims to:
• Project ASEAN as an attractive, multi-faceted single destination.
• Create and increase awareness of ASEAN as a highly competitive regional tourist destination in the Asia Pacific.
• Attract more tourists to ASEAN member countries.
• Promote intra-ASEAN tourism.
• Strengthen cooperation among the various sectors of the ASEAN tourism industry.
With ASEAN (the Association of South-East Asian Nations) recognising tourism as being vital in the economic growth of the region, the event will further push the region as a quality destination for each and every visitor.
