Les Mills alerted to illegal copyright downloads
A further reminder of the power of social network Twitter has been revealed this week with Les Mills International, the New Zealand company that is the world's largest provider of choreographed exercise-to-music group fitness classes, being alerted to illegal uploading/sharing of its copyrighted class programs.
A tweet directing users of Twitter to a popular file sharing site containing downloads of Les Mills RPM (its high intensity cycle based program) material led Les Mills instructor Marcus Goldfinch to tweet "you realise that this is illegal right? Uploading/seeding LesMills copyright protected material."
Les Mills International reacted quickly taking action on the file sharing site and advising Twitter "Marcus Goldfinch, thanks for bringing this to our attention. Illegal uploading/sharing of our content is something we monitor closely."
