Jetts Fitness 24/7 opens 50th Club

Jetts Fitness 24/7 opens 50th Club
February 8, 2010

Having launched just two years ago and following 12 months of incredible growth, Jetts Fitness 24/7 has celebrated the opening of their 50th club, with a further 60 more outlets planned for 2010.

Group Managing Director Brendon Levenson explains "we are proud to have opened our 50th location, capping off a remarkable 12 months for the group."

During 2009, arguably one of the most difficult years for business in Australia's history, Jetts defied the global downturn to deliver 500% growth with 41 new clubs opened, and is predicted to more than double their annual turnover by the close of this financial year.

As Levenson adds, "the key to the success of Jetts has been the clear and consistent execution of our strategy, backed by an exceptional corporate team and franchise network."

In a market that has previously been dominated by large clubs and multinational operators, Jetts has bucked the trend of 'bigger is better' and in doing so has earned the support of the Australian gym public.

The chain offers slimmed down clubs focusing on the core equipment people use on a regular basis, such as treadmills and bikes, weight training equipment and free weights. The elimination of high cost facilities such as pools, steam rooms and group fitness classes allows clubs to be located in small footprint, neighborhood shopping centres, with prices half that of other clubs with no long term membership contract required.

Levenson continues "our goals have always been clear, position Jetts as the consumers champion by offering state of the art work out facilities, facilities that the typical Australian needs, at prices that offer exceptional value."

As well as boasting the lowest membership prices in the market, the company was also the first Australian gym chain to offer no contracts, reciprocal memberships and 24/7 access as standard with all memberships.

Levenson concludes "today's consumers are more value conscious and time poor than ever; opening the door to exercise at a time that suits their schedule with no barriers really fits with the needs of the current market."

The 2009/2010 financial year sets to solidify the success of the group, which anticipates turnover of $5.2 million on the back of $1.9 million for the previous period. Group revenues are expected to exceed $30 million off a base of 90,000 members by calendar year's end.

Growth of the club network is expected through further openings in all established metropolitan markets, as well as new clubs in Darwin, Hobart, regional NSW and Victoria, as well as international expansion into New Zealand.
