HOSTPLUS agrees five year Arts Centre Melbourne sponsorship

HOSTPLUS agrees five year Arts Centre Melbourne sponsorship
November 29, 2012

Industry superannuation fund HOSTPLUS has announced a five-year partnership with Australia's largest performing arts facility, the Arts Centre Melbourne.

The partnership will see industry superannuation fund for the hospitality, tourism, recreation and sport industries support key education and training programs, as well as public-facing major events at the Centre.

Anouncing the partnership, Arts Centre Melbourne President Janet Whiting stated "we are very pleased to welcome HOSTPLUS as an Official Partner. As a major employer with over 100 full-time staff and some 500 casual staff in the industry that is their speciality, this partnership is both practical and creative in helping us realise our vision to be one of the world's great performing arts centres, and it provides a significant boost to our bottom line which will contribute directly to the events and activities we are able to offer Victorians and visitors."

HOSTPLUS Chief Executive David Elia added "we are delighted to partner with Arts Centre Melbourne and invest in and help foster talent in this vibrant sector. This partnership is the perfect stage to further engage and enhance HOSTPLUS' involvement with a large number of members that currently work in this sector. It also gives us an incredible capacity to create stronger economic linkages to the aligned industries we serve within the areas of hospitality and cultural tourism."

In 2013, as official partner, HOSTPLUS will be linked with The Famous Spiegeltent Season from 5th February to 21st April, and will be the naming rights sponsor for Arts Centre Melbourne's Local Artist Outdoor Stage located in The Famous Spiegeltent Garden. The latter program provides performance opportunities for Spiegel stars of the future every Friday and Saturday night from 8th February to 30th March.

HOSTPLUS will support Arts Centre Melbourne's Technical Production Traineeships, year-long paid skill development pathways for those wanting to enter the industry or who have just started out. HOSTPLUS will also support Arts Centre Melbourne's new Tertiary Student Internships aimed at increasing understanding of arts centre operations among tertiary students enrolled in performing arts or arts administration courses.

Reaching out into the wider community, HOSTPLUS will support Arts Centre Melbourne's Online Learning programs, particularly Page to Stage, Arts Centre Melbourne's award-winning performance-making toolkit for schools and young theatre-makers.

HOSTPLUS will also be associated with two awards in Arts Centre Melbourne's staff reward and recognition program, Standing Ovation: a quarterly Standing Ovation Award for excellence, together with the Annual Employee of the Year Award.
