The conviction of gang boss Mick Hawi over the murder of a rival at Sydney Airport in March 2009 has highlighted the dangers associated with freestanding queuing posts.

The victim, Anthony Zervas, was stabbed and bludgeoned with a queuing post/bollard - an incident that prompted Queue Safe National Manager John Roach to develop 'QSafe', a crowd control barrier system that offers distinct and remarkable advantages over conventional freestanding queuing posts.
