read moreIn a move that clarifies the Fitness Award for swimming instructors, the Swim Instructors Association (SIA) has announced that the Fair Work Commission has accepted proposed changes to the Fitness Award.
In a statement, the SIA explained “this means that the Award is now clear - if your employer asks you to teach a lesson on your own, you must be paid as a teacher (Level 2+) regardless of how many hours you have completed at Level 1.
“If this is not happening at your centre then contact the SIA today.”
The Swim Instructors Association (SIA) is a division of the Australian Workers Union.
