Dreamworld launches after dark thrill experience
Dreamworld’s inaugural Park After Dark event has given guests the opportunity to take evening rides on five of the theme park’s thrill rides with the option of being blindfolded.
Staged last Saturday evening (24th June), the unprecedented theme park experience was the first time in the history of Dreamworld that guests have been given the option to ride blindfolded.
Thrillseekers were able to race along Mick Doohan’s Motocoaster, face gravity in the dark on the Tower of Terror Two, spin at high speed on the Claw and Pandamonium and take control on board Tail Spin.
As a Dreamworld spokesperson explains “the added adrenalin that comes with no view of the next drop, turn or spin ahead of them will create the ultimate thrill-seeking experience for our bravest ride-goers.”
The even also included free rides on Dreamworld’s Flowrider and V8 Supercar Simulators, an after dark presentation Tiger Island and the Kevil Hill Zombie Evilution, with walk-through scare attractions with a maze and live actors.
Park After Dark: Thrillathon was Dreamworld’s first night event of the year and is part of a series of exclusive and unique experiences planned for 2017.
Dreamworld has welcomed two African white lions who have taken up residence in the recently completed Tiger Island precinct.
Dreamworld’s new Tiger Island set to be a roaring success
The rare white lions, Holden and Kimba, will call Dreamworld home for the next two weeks, giving visitors an up-close look at the big cats while they take a break from their permanent home at Altina Wildlife Park in NSW.
Al Mucci, Dreamworld’s Executive General Manager of Life Sciences explained “the world-class Tiger Island precinct was completed earlier this month with the opening of the Up Close Experience and every aspect is carefully designed to reflect the natural environment of our big cats.
“Welcoming Holden and Kimba to Dreamworld will further help conservation initiatives for cats in the wild through the Dreamworld Wildlife Foundation and will raise awareness of the plight of our vulnerable and endangered big cats around the world.”
The pair will be at Dreamworld until 13th July.
