Creatures of the deep surface at Sea World
Gold Coast theme park Sea World has launched its new Creatures of the Deep attraction - featuring some of the ocean’s most mysterious modern, extinct and mythological creatures.
Dubbed as a "world-first", the multi-million dollar attraction takes Sea World visitors on a journey to the extreme depths of the ocean across stunning indoor and outdoor display areas.
Sea World Curator of Fishes, Marnie Horton said this new attraction gives guests the opportunity to experience and learn about this mysterious and majestic world and the creatures which inhabit it.
Horton explained “Creatures of the Deep is a world-first interactive and educational experience which will be sure to delight and amaze guests of all ages as they are transported into an undersea world filled with wonderment.
“A highlight of Creatures of the Deep is the giant animatronic sea creatures in the outdoor themed display areas including the 22 metre Blue Whale, the 16.5 metre prehistoric Megalodon shark and the 12metre Deinosuchus.
“The indoor display area takes guests on a journey through a luminous environment where they can learn about some of the more intriguing underwater creatures such as the gulper eel or the angler fish which survive frigid temperatures and darkness.
“Creatures of the Deep also features an array of interactive elements giving guests the ability to control the movements of the coelacanth, leatherback turtle and mythical sea serpent.”
