Clean Health announces Australian Institute of Fitness acquisition

Clean Health announces Australian Institute of Fitness acquisition
April 10, 2024

Clean Health, the trusted source of fitness education for personal trainers globally, has announced the acquisition of the Australian Institute of Fitness (AIF), Australia’s largest fitness education provider.

In making the acquisition, Clean Health aim enhance AIF’s legacy while solidifying its mission to educate over 1 million fitness professionals by 2028.

Expected to have a profound impact on the health and wellness of tens of millions of their clients worldwide, Daine McDonald, founder, co-Chief Executive and Chairman of Clean Health, advised “since 1979, AIF has been the original market leader in personal trainer education in Australia, educating over 100,000 students in personal training and massage qualifications over the last 45 years.

“AIF’s qualifications in personal training and massage are designed to help people start and launch their new careers. When combined with Clean Health’s globally recognised continuing education programs in nutrition, fitness business, and advanced program design, they will allow us to create a new era of world-class personal trainers and nutritionists.”

Nouri Groom, who will transition from AIF Chief Executive to the role of Chief Financial Officer for the broader Clean Health Group following the acquisition, commented “Daine, Lauren, and the Clean Health team represent the perfect acquirers for AIF, as fitness professionals themselves; they get the industry, and I am excited to take the AIF brand and products to a new generation of personal trainers worldwide.”

AIF co-founder and Chairman, Russell Creagh added “when Nigel Champion, Greg Hurst, and I launched AIF, the industry was in its infancy stages. We were able to pioneer world-class education and help shape the modern fitness industry.

“With Daine, we feel it is passing the baton to the new generation, and we can’t wait to see what the AIF can do in Clean Health’s very capable hands.”

Under Clean Health’s ownership, AIF will continue to operate as a Registered Training Organisation (RTO ID:121508), ensuring the provision of quality education to our students. Furthermore, we are now in a position to enhance our offerings by providing additional industry connections and opportunities both domestically and internationally, leveraging Clean Health’s status as the third-largest fitness education provider globally.

Having also recently acquired the Vast Fitness Academy, Clean Health is now the third-largest fitness education provider globally.
