ClassPass records incremental growth on one year Australian anniversary
November 1, 2016

Marking 12 months of operations in Australia, leading sharing platform ClassPass has revealed that more than 70% of its clients are new to boutique fitness and were introduced to boutique fitness through ClassPass.

The largest provider of boutique fitness classes through one single membership with over 900 fitness studios partners across Australia, ClassPass has seen incremental growth during its year of operations.

In 12 months, user reservations have climbed from 696 at the end of October 2015 to 31,287 as of end October 2016 in Sydney, and from 1067 reservations at end October 2015 to 36,510 as of end October 2016 in Melbourne.

Overall, ClassPass has experienced a growth of 21% of subscribers month on month over the past six months Australia wide and 17% month on month in the last three months.

ClassPass Australia Regional General Manager Natasha Prasad explains “we are seeing a trend towards boutique fitness as people want variety in their fitness regime and ClassPass breaks down the barriers to trying new fitness genres and classes.

“The platform is now facilitating over one million bookings a month worldwide, a 21% increase month over month user growth”

ClassPass has been able to delve into user insights via its ratings and reviews.

Here Prasad explains “we gather ratings and reviews from our users and this presents a rare opportunity for small businesses to incorporate real-time learnings into their offerings, whilst usage patterns offer insight into market trends and demographic tastes and preferences.”

Data and technology have the ability to transform the fitness industry in unprecedented ways and ClassPass is at the forefront of that.

According to Prasad “in Sydney and Melbourne, barre, cycling, strength and pilates classes are rated amongst the highest with the most popular class times being 6pm, 7am and 12pm”.

The company is equally committed to empowering its users to lead active and fulfilled lives. ClassPass has been mobile-centric from the beginning and make it easy for users to browse and book class, receive personalised recommendations and provide feedback on the go.

ClassPass plans to continue to help remove barriers to fitness participation in Australian by bringing new experiences and a number of exclusive studios all under one membership platform.
