read moreThe Australian Tourism Export Council (ATEC) has appointed Jennifer Bruce as its new Industry Development and Education Manager to spearhead the organisation’s education and training platform.
Bruce joins the ATEC team from TOGA Far East (TFE) Hotels where she capped off her successful 10 year term in the role of Associate Director of Sales.
Commenting on the appointment, ATEC Managing Director, Peter Shelley stated “Jennifer brings a wealth of experience to ATEC, including an expansive network of connections and a solid industry base which she will draw on as the organisation begins a review of its industry development and training agenda.
“Her previous involvement with ATEC’s industry development programs puts Jennifer in a strong position to build forward looking, business relevant course structures that provide our members with the tools they need for success.
“ATEC is committed to building a new and comprehensive, knowledge-based learning platform that will see a thorough review of our existing offerings including the Emerging Leaders program, which has strong and enthusiastic support from our Young ATEC members.”
Shelley said the first focus of the role would be on redeveloping ATEC’s National Export Ready Framework as a cornerstone of the organisation’s education offering.
Relishing her new role, Bruce added "this is a great opportunity to contribute to the development and delivery of ATEC’s new training and development agenda and to build a program that is supportive of the growth of both our member businesses and the tourism industry.
“I’m passionate about industry development and training and am excited to have the opportunity to make a difference.”
ATEC will roll out the new ‘Export Readiness’ program and a revised ‘Emerging Leaders’ program in the second half of this calendar year.
Bruce commences work with ATEC today (Monday 4th May).
