iPlaygrounds introduces Playworld Systems’ new dome climber to Australia and New Zealand

iPlaygrounds introduces Playworld Systems’ new dome climber to Australia and New Zealand
June 18, 2014

iPlaygrounds, Australian and New Zealand distributor of US-based Playworld Systems have confirmed their commitment to saving outdoor unstructured play by announcing the launch of Unity, a new climbing structure designed to appeal to today’s thrill-seeking kids.

Unity takes the decades-old geodesic dome and makes it meaningful and relevant to 21st century children.

Playworld Systems Director of Product Development and Strategy Michael Laris explains “the product design for Unity propels the past into the future.

“We redesigned the traditional play dome with its triangular openings because children aren’t triangular shaped. In the old dome, kids couldn’t access the enticing interior space and all the sides were the same. Unity opens up that special space and the added dimension offers more fun and engagement for children of all ages.”

Unity is made up of circular openings of various sizes that kids can hang and move through. Various shaped openings allow access to the centre where there is a special rope-climbing feature. Rhythmic play activities create a ‘drum circle’ and bring variation to the circumference, allowing everyone to be in, on and around the Unity dome. With a multitude of challenges to increase strength, agility and movement planning, the structure provides everything children of all abilities aged from five to 12 years want in a climber. Unity is also a great place to gather and gain perspective from a different vantage point. The various activities and levels of challenge allow every child to be a part of the action.

Laris adds “these days, there may be nothing more important than children being together, face-to-face and side-by-side, in the fresh air of the outside environment.

“Unity entices children to get outdoors and be active.”
