PPCA (the Phonographic Performance Company of Australia), Australia's recording industry association, made an application to appeal a December Australian Federal Court Ruling on proposed increases to the Fitness Industry Tariff.
At that time the Australian Federal Court overturned a ruling that would have increased Australian health club music licensing fees by 1,500%, raising the costs from $0.97 per exercise class to $15 per class.
Throughout court proceedings the current Licence Scheme for Tariff V has remained in place.
