For the seventh year in a row Aussie World continued their long running Christmas tradition of hosting Christmas Eve lunch for hundreds of Salvation Army families from across the Sunshine Coast.

At the same time that Santa was preparing to leave the North Pole, Aussie World threw open their gates to the Salvation Army and welcomed hundreds of less fortunate families to share in some Christmas cheer, unlimited rides and a hot lunch.

Aussie World General Manager David Thompson said this event is one of the many ways that Aussie World supports the Sunshine Coast community.

Thompson stated "this year's been tough on a lot of people and at Christmas time everyone deserves a happy day filled with fun and laughter.

"Aussie World's the perfect place for bringing families together and weâre proud to have such a long standing relationship with the Salvation Army."

Salvation Army family support worker Susan Perry said the day gives the families a much needed emotional boost, adding "it's wonderful that Aussie World give the children a big day out with a lovely Christmas lunch.

"The childrenâs faces lit up with joy when they arrived here, Christmas Eve at Aussie World is a blessing for the whole family."
