Salisbury Aquatic Centre set to open on 24th June

Salisbury Aquatic Centre set to open on 24th June
April 15, 2024

The City of Salisbury has revealed that the highly anticipated Salisbury Aquatic Centre will open its doors from Monday 24th June 2024.

One of the most significant projects undertaken by Council in recent years, the Centre will be delivered with two indoor pools, a health club, 50-metre outdoor pool, splash pad and waterplay area, and a triple water slide tower.

Today’s opening date announcement coincided with the launch of exclusive membership offers from midday that will see the first 200 people to sign up for the Foundation Membership receive full health club and aquatic access for just $16 a week, - 20% off the normal price.

Following this, two further exclusive pre-sale opportunities will be offered at limited numbers before opening general memberships.

Foundation Members will enjoy unlimited access to the Salisbury Aquatic Centre’s health club and aquatic facilities, group fitness classes, functional training and more. There will also be other membership options for those wanting something specific, like aquatic use only.

Learn-to-swim programs for children of all ages will be offered at the Centre, and those looking to enrol can register their interest now.

It has also been revealed that the Centre will be managed by BlueFit whose experience partnering with councils already sees it manage City of Salisbury’s own Parafield Gardens Recreation Centre and Ingle Farm Recreation Centre as well as the neighbouring City of Playford’s Aquadome.

The Centre is tracking towards practical completion and handover to BlueFit in early May, with the indoor pools recently filled, new car park, driveway and landscaping nearing completion, and final touches currently being added to the outdoor pool areas, waterplay features and 10-metre high water slides.

Looking forward to the opening, City of Salisbury Mayor, Gillian Aldridge commented “there will be so much on offer when it opens, like indoor swimming, health club and fitness classes, learn-to-swim programs, and from what I have seen on recent site visits, I know the community will absolutely love it.”

Stating that his team are looking forward to delivering a diverse range of health, fitness and aquatic programs, and is excited by the opportunity to position the Salisbury Aquatic Centre as the premier leisure facility in the City of Salisbury, BlueFit Chief Executive, Todd McHardy explained”the Salisbury Aquatic Centre will become a true community hub, in which community members feel inspired to engage in a range of health and fitness opportunities. With our Foundation Memberships offering exceptional value for a limited time, now is the perfect time to join.

“We cannot wait to open and deliver accessible and inclusive fitness, wellness, and learn-to-swim opportunities to this growing local community. For our new members, we look forward to meeting you.”

The Salisbury Aquatic Centre has been co-funded by the South Australian Government’s Local Government Infrastructure Partnership Program.
