Year of growth for Commercial Aquatics Australia
2014 was a year of remarkable growth for Commercial Aquatics Australia.
With a new management structure in place and a newly opened office in Brisbane, the company was able to deliver a massively diverse range of completed aquatic projects, including water play parks, family attractions, resort facilities, major competition and stadium venues, and facilities for schools, remote communities and mining camps.
Some of Commercial Aquatics Australia’s standout projects over recent years include the stunning Burswood Entertainment Complex in Perth, the Cannington Leisureplex and the Fitness First Top Ryde swimming pool installed on the top floor of a shopping centre in Sydney’s west.
Commercial Aquatics Australia’s new structure sees Neil Daffen in the role of General Manager West Coast and Jamie Brown as General Manager East Coast. Along with the appointment of Gavin McLeod as Queensland State Manager, the company is now firmly established as a national force, leading the charge in designing, constructing and maintaining state of the art commercial pool facilities across the country.
Mindful of new trends in aquatics, Commercial Aquatics Australia has become a leader in the installation of water play/spray parks (also known as aquatic playgrounds, water spray grounds, spray pads, splash parks, splash pads, aquatic play pads, aquatic playscapes and [rather confusingly] waterparks).
Designed to suit a wide range of ages and confidence levels, from exciting fully enclosed water slides to shaded paddling pools with beach-style entry, water play/spray parks have been proving increasingly popular with children and their families – with all involved enjoying the opportunity for free play with the fountains, sprays, tipping buckets, lazy rivers and bubble pools at their local attraction.
Commercial Aquatics Australia has designed and constructed a wide variety of water play/spray parks, often incorporating elements for increasingly sustainable facilities with low maintenance requirements and reduced running costs through extensive water reclamation measures.
A recent installation was the Kingdom Falls facility, a key feature of the major renovation at Adventure World - Perth’s leading theme and water park destination. Kingdom Falls (pictured below) is a haven where youngsters can play, visitors can cool down and families enjoy a shared experience. For young children the aquatic playground offers interactive water play, colourful spray loops, mini bucket tips, a mushroom rain tree and a big spill from the giant 600 litre tip bucket.
Commercial Aquatics Australia has also responded to the needs of clients in developing a comprehensive service offer to aquatic facility and commercial pool operators around Australia. This includes a range of preventative maintenance services and reactive maintenance with both phone and on-site support available 24/7. The company provides full water chemistry and microbiological testing services which comply with Department of Health standards, and advanced level pool operations training courses to ensure staff members understand both pool plant safety and quality operation procedures.
Another service receiving a great deal of interest is the provision of asset condition reports, which document not only the current state of an asset, but also the predicted rate at which it will deteriorate and require replacement and upgrading. This allows pool operators and owners to schedule necessary repairs, maintenance, shutdowns and capital works programs.
