Sports surfacing experts William Loud [Wm Loud (Aust) Pty Ltd] and Tiger Turf have recently completed a project to provide a state-of-the-art sporting complex at the Kolbe Catholic College in Greenvale Lakes, Victoria.

The multi-million dollar project, providing a six-lane athletics track and synthetic grass football field has provided a versatile, multi-function facility that is already being subject to a high level of usage.

At the heart of the facility, which also includes a new car park, is a Tiger Turf Endurance artificial turf surface, constructed using Tiger Turf’s XP Pro yarn.

Preparation for the project included significant earthworks, installation of drainage and crushed rock pavements to high tolerances on which a synthetic grass surface was laid.

A Tiger Turf spokesperson explained “the build and installation had its share of difficulties,  mostly weather related.

“We experienced rain almost every week for 10 weeks but through careful project management and some long hours by (our) installers, we delivered a supreme installation on time and budget.”

As a result, Kolbe Catholic College now have a large multi-dimensional, low maintenance elite facility which has become the hub of their competitive and recreational sports.
