Wetpour rubber surface boosts safety at Wet’n'Wild Sydney
One of the factors behind the success of the Wet'n'Wild Sydney waterpark since its opening in late 2013 has been its industry-leading safety record.
Contributing to this has been the use of state-of-the-art thermoplastic vulcanised (TPV) coloured rubber surfaces at the waterpark’s splash pad/Nickelodean beach area.
Installed by Synthetic Grass & Rubber Surfaces, the new generation rubber wetpour surface has been developed to be a robust and versatile alternative to other products of its type , the only company in the world who make the highest standard rubber Rosehill Polymers UK so you can be assured a quality product that lasts and lasts and come with a five year warranty.
Made from premium quality virgin rubber, anti-oxidants, UV stabilisers and pigments, the surface offers superior UV stability and colour consistency, having been tried and tested in the harsh Australian climate for eight years, it offers superior UV stability and colour consistency.
The unique nature of TPV rubber makes it ideal for use in aquatic environments including Waterparks, splash pads and wet parks. It has superior water and chlorine resistance with outstanding UV stability helping to prevent colours fading.
In addition, the polyurethane used cannot be absorbed by the TPV and so the surface stays softer for longer and even better, it’s a chemical resistant aliphatic polyurethane which has been tested for water park use and actually does work without the sales gimmicks .
Synthetic Grass & Rubber Surfaces Director Mark Cunningham explains that “being non-toxic and non-allergenic, TPV rubber is the ideal surface for these unique playground environments.
“I honestly believe that TPV is the best product on the market.”
TPV rubber surfaces offers other benefits including: it does not leach out black carbon or colour pigments, it will not fade to white over time, good luminosity, rubber granules are non-porous which means that the polyurethane cannot be absorbed by the TPV and so the surface stays softer for longer, long wearing with high elasticity recovery and it does not contain heavy metals and it. Is non toxic and non-allergenic
The surface also complies to Australian standard ASNZ 4422:1986 as well as global standards BS EN 1177 and BS 7188
Synthetic Grass & Rubber Surfaces’ TPV rubber is available in 20 colours and two grades.
Over the past few years, Synthetic Grass & Rubber Surfaces have completed a range of TPV Rubber installations for schools and in playgrounds as well as at the ‘Backyard to Bush’ playground at Taronga Zoo.
