read moreThe key roles and makeup of the Australian aquatic industry are the focus of the new National Aquatic Industry Workforce Report 2023, which is being released through a free webinar on Wednesday 19th July 2023.
The report, which was compiled by Royal Life Saving Society - Australia, presents demographic information and analysis of the workforce across Australia based on the survey run from November to December 2022, and builds on research previously undertaken in 2019.
The report provides a comparison to the 2019 workforce profile, as well as data on the direct effects of the COVID-19 pandemic lockdowns on individual workers and the workforce generally.
Advising that more than 2000 workers completed the detailed survey which informed the report, Royal Life Saving National Manager - Training and Workforce Development, Shaun Jackson stated “we were delighted with the engagement from right across the aquatic industry at all levels from people in their first job to those in leadership roles.
“There were some very clear trends emerging which have informed the recommendations to strengthen and support the aquatic industry workforce.”
Webinar panel members include Jackson, Nicky Sloan from City Venue Management, Georgie Nichol from AUSTSWIM and Grant Connors from Belgravia Leisure.
Royal Life Saving has extended its thanks to its state and territory member organisations and the member organisations of the National Aquatic Industry Committee for their support of this vital workforce research and advocacy.
To discuss the findings in the report, and analyse the challenges and opportunities ahead, Royal Life Saving’s free lunchtime webinar will run from 1-2pm (AEST) on Wednesday 19th July.
Registration for the webiner is essential.
