read moreThe Venue Management Association (Asia and Pacific) Limited [VMA] has opened nominations for its new-look Venue Professional of the Year Award and its new professional recognition category, the Young Achiever of the Year Award.
Introducing the Awards, VMA Membership and Marketing Committee Chair Judy Vince CFE, explained "the VMA introduced the prestigious Venue Professional of the Year Award in 2010, with 12 recipients officially recognised over the past six years.
“The Venue Professional of the Year Award has traditionally been separated into two categories over the past six years i.e. an annual award for both an Active Member and an Allied Member.
“Commencing in 2016, the Venue Professional of the Year Award will be awarded to only one Nominee irrespective of whether they are an Active or Allied VMA Member.
“The main change to the revised selection criteria is the recognition of activities over the candidate’s career as opposed to those activities undertaken for the preceding year only.
“The new category of the Young Achiever of the Year Award will recognise venue industry professionals who are under 30 years of age as at 1st May of the year the award is presented. The VMA Board is passionate about recognising and promoting up-and-coming members of the Association”.
The Young Achiever of the Year Award is awarded to only one Nominee irrespective of whether they are an Active or Allied VMA Member.
Vince added “this is a fantastic opportunity for our VMA members to recognise a colleague for the contributions they have made to the venue management industry.”
Nominations close on Wednesday 30th March 2016
