read moreUniversal Studios Singapore at Resorts World Sentosa has announced that its popular Halloween Horror Nights will not be held this year.
The event, which has grown to be Singapore's major annual Halloween event, drawing in huge crowds over its month-long run, has been shelved because of ongoing concerns about the transmission of Coronavirus.
In a Facebook post, Universal Studios Singapore revealed that the cancellation had been a "difficult decision", noting "like all of you, we are disappointed by this decision. But more than that, we are optimistic that it will return one day, scarier and more thrilling than ever."
With Singapore still imposing social gathering rules and operators being required to prevent crowds or long queues, the cancellation had been anticipated.
In past years, the Halloween event has featured the pontianak-themed kampung horror house, a Stranger Things dedicated attraction and the annual zombie laser tag contest.
Universal Studios Singapore and the S.E.A. Aquarium are inviting guests to "come dressed in your Halloween best" in the lead up to All Hallows Eve.
