Time to show that this industry is bouncing back

Time to show that this industry is bouncing back
April 1, 2022

With indicators that recovery is in the air across all sectors of the industry that we call leisure - aquatics, attractions, entertainment, events, fitness, parks, recreation, sport, tourism and venues - Australasian Leisure Management wants to celebrate how this industry is bouncing back, helping Australians and New Zealanders enjoy and improve their life and health, attain physical activity and sporting goals, have fun and be entertained.

For a photographic essay both online and in the printed Australasian Leisure Management magazine, we ask that you send us an image (or images) that you think celebrates how this industry is recovering.

It could be a member’s high five, a child on a carnival ride, a sporting achievement, an event opening, a celebration.or anything else that reflects an air of positivity as this industry looks into the remaining quarters of the year.

As Australasian Leisure Management Publisher, Nigel Benton explains “the last two years or so have seen this industry and those who work in it endure bush fires; repeated floods; the impact of the Coronavirus and its lockdowns, restrictions and consumer uncertainty and the resultant financial, employment and mental health challenges.

“In fact, I put this period of challenge as going back beyond two years with the bushfires on Australia’s East Coast starting in November 2019 and that year rounding out with the tragedy of the eruption on New Zealand’s White Island in December of that year.

“But despite the sadness, loss and challenges, the indications of industry recovery are what we want to mark, showing that this industry is ‘bouncing back’.”
