Theatre Network Australia partners with Safe Theatres Australia to deliver industry workshops
June 14, 2019

Theatre Network Australia (TNA), the leading industry development organisation for the performing arts, has been working with Safe Theatres Australia to run Safe Theatres Workshops in each state and territory.

Designed in response to sector need, a Safe Theatres workshop will be held in Melbourne on 20th June to focus on how independents and smaller companies might deal with potential scenarios involving workplace bullying, discrimination and sexual harassment, especially in the absence of formal workplace policies and resources.

Hosted by theatre-maker and facilitator Kate Sulan, speakers include Kim Tran (Live Performance Australia), Eryn Jean Norvill (Safe Theatres), Tracy Margieson (Arts Wellbeing Collective) and Juanita Pope (Justice Connect).

TNA is now in conversation with member companies in Queensland, Western Australia, South Australia and NSW.

TNA strengthens artists and arts organisations, influences cultural policy, facilitates critical debate and networking, and advocates for a robust, interconnected and innovative sector.

Their work is guided by the following key priorities:
First Nations Leadership
Increasing Diversity
Fairer Arrangements for Artists
Gender Equity
Safe Theatres/Workplaces
Healthy Ecology
Stronger Connections
