Stuart Hodge appointed as Chief Executive at Football NSW
Football NSW has announced the appointment of Stuart Hodge as the organisation’s new Chief Executive.
With more than 18 years’ experience in sports administration, including four years with Football Federation Australia (FFA), Hodge has an extensive understanding of the football landscape in NSW, nationally and internationally.
Football NSW Chairman, Anter Isaac, said he and his Board are delighted that Hodge has agreed to join the organisation.
Isaac explained “we conducted an extensive and thorough search, receiving applications from a large number of impressive individuals from around the world.
“Stuart was the stand-out candidate and the person we unanimously believed was the best credentialled for this role.
“We have no doubt that Stuart’s skills, experience, expertise and collaborative approach will enable him to lead this organisation through its next phase of growth and development and enhanced delivery of services to our members.
“With the focus and purpose of Football NSW shifting from compliance and coordination to that of football development and member service and support, and given the strategic planning we are about to undertake, we believe Stuart is ideally placed to implement our vision. We look forward to working with and supporting him through this important phase.”
Hodge said he is thrilled and excited about his appointment, stating “I am honoured and humbled to be given the opportunity to join Football NSW. I regard this role as one of the most important in football in Australia.
“I am looking forward to working with the Board, the dedicated management and staff, as well as our Members and the broader Football community in NSW. I want to ensure we engage with our stakeholders to provide an environment to grow and develop the game and enhance our service delivery and support through programs designed to build capability across key areas.”
Currently Hodge is based in Doha, Qatar where he is the Director of Marketing for the International Centre for Sport Security, a globally-renowned and respected organisation which plays an increasingly integral role in addressing critical issues in sport such as governance, integrity and transparency, as well as major event safety and security.
Immediately prior to that, Hodge was the Head of Marketing and Communications for Doha’s Aspire Zone.
In addition to his considerable experience in marketing, media and communications, Hodge’s skill set embraces areas including board and governance, forward planning and strategy, organisational culture and performance, relationship management, stakeholder service and support, football development, business and facilities development, as well as finance, risk and regulatory.
He holds a Masters in International Sports Management.
Hodge has also previously held positions with the Australian Rugby Union and Melbourne Storm.
He will return to Australia with his family during the next month in order to commence his duties with Football NSW next month.
