Five sporting champions have been named to join the elite group of 45 inductees in the KPMG South Australian Sport Hall of Fame.

The 2015 inductees - Lorraine Eiler (basketball), Karen Rolton (cricket), Robert Newbery (diving), Sandra Pisani (hockey) and the late Norman Claxton (multisport) - will now stand alongside sporting legends Sir Donald Bradman, Bart Cummings and Barrie Robran as representatives of the success stories in South Australian sporting history.

The inductees will be formally presented to the industry at South Australian sport’s bug night of the year, the KPMG Celebration of South Australian Sport on Wednesday 25th November at the Adelaide Convention Centre.

The event will also see the announcement of The Advertiser /Channel Seven Sports Star of the Year awards, along with Sport SA awards - recognise the people and events behind the stars.

Commenting on the inductees, Sport SA Chief Executive Jan Sutherland stated “since (their) establishment in 2010, the KPMG South Australia Sport Hall of Fame has become an essential element in the preservation of South Australia’s sporting culture showcasing the celebrated performances of our elite sportspeople and dedicated support teams.

“Their accomplishments display dedication, pride and sportsmanship with their stories inspiring and motivating in sport and life”.

With KPMG as its naming rights backer, the South Australia Sport Hall of Fame, managed by Sport SA is also supported by The Advertiser, Channel Seven, and the South Australian Government.

KPMG is seen as an excellent fit with the quality sporting achievements and significant heritage of the Inductees with its strong brand of leadership in the community, their values of leading by example and working together to achieve, also being reflected in Sport SA’s Legends and Hall of Fame Inductees on their journeys to success.
