A number of agencies have formed the Global Network of National Sport Integrity Agencies which aims to provide a platform where its members can communicate easily and exchange ideas and learnings in relation to the sport integrity environment.

Sport Integrity Australia is part of the establishment of the Global Network of National Sport Integrity Agencies.

Across the globe, sport Anti-Doping Agencies are embracing the challenge of broadening their capability to address both existing and emerging threats to the integrity of sport.

Integrity in sport means that participants, officials, athletes and supporters can participate in, and enjoy sport, confident in the knowledge that they are part of a safe, fair and inclusive environment.

It is essential that participants in sport are treated with respect, dignity and are protected from bullying, discrimination, harassment, physical and sexual abuse and any other inappropriate behaviour.”

Through the collaboration offered by the new Global Network of National Sport Integrity Agencies network, members can enhance and build their own integrity framework based on sound and tested principles and share their own experiences with others with a view to building a strong and informed network of sport integrity agencies.

Sport Integrity Australia notes the establishment of a Global Network of National Sport Integrity Agencies network brings together agencies from across the globe with a common goal of building capabilities to address threats in relation to the sport integrity environment.

SIA adds “Global Network of National Sport Integrity Agencies is a key alliance in helping keep sports safe, protected and a step ahead of emerging integrity threats.

“It aims to provide all parties with an opportunity to learn from each other, to adopt better practices, and building a safer sporting environment for all.

“The group has met on a number of occasions including Sport Integrity Australia hosting a webinar on our National Integrity Framework which focused on improper use of Drugs and Medicine, Safeguarding of Children and Young People, Member Protection, Competition Manipulation and Sports Gambling and our Complaints Dispute and Discipline Policy.

“Sport Integrity Australia looks forward to working collaboratively with the network to ensure sport is safe and fair for everyone at all levels around the globe. Working and learning together is key.”
