SNAP program supports touring of Western Australian artists and musicians

SNAP program supports touring of Western Australian artists and musicians
July 12, 2023

Western Australia’s Short Notice Activities Programs (SNAP) will support artists, arts workers, musicians, bands and music industry professionals to take advantage of unplanned career-building opportunities.

Two new programs are opening today for short-notice opportunities that arise for Western Australian artists or contemporary musicians.

The SNAP supports artists to engage in high-quality national, regional and international arts and cultural opportunities.

The Contemporary Music Fund SNAP offers funding for short-notice professional development and national, regional and international touring/showcasing opportunities for WA musicians and musical acts.

There are two programs for 2023/2024. The first program opens from 11th July to 7th December 2023, and the second opens from 9th January to 6th June 2024.

WA Acting Culture and the Arts Minister Dr Tony Buti notes "these new programs will allow WA artists and musicians to leverage the career-boosting opportunities that come up in their industries.

"The music sector, in particular, has unexpected development and touring opportunities that crop up, and we want our musicians to jump at those chances.

"We urge artists to SNAP up those opportunities and show what WA creatives have to offer."

The SNAP complements other culture and the arts grant programs, including the Arts Projects for Individuals program and the Arts Projects for Organisations program, open three times yearly, offering funding for larger planned projects and programs.
