Sky Zone opens largest trampoline park in the southern hemisphere
The largest trampoline park in the southern hemisphere has opened at Westfield Miranda in Southern Sydney.
The new two-storey Sky Zone venue combines a full range of trampolining activities with a six trampoline performance area; a Sky Climb high climbing feature; and the ‘Enduro Ninja Warrior’ course, a new feature to Sky Zone that combines technology from parkour, rock climbing and ropes adventures.
Covering 3,800 metre² the $13.5million facility offers more than 100 interconnected trampolines offer with open jump courts; 3D dodgeball courts for those who enjoy friendly competition; foam pits; ‘Sky Slam’ basketball; Wall Running; and SkyFit classes which combine advanced calisthenics and a three-dimensional cardio and strength training program.
Introducing the new facility – the fourth Sky Zone in Australia - Sky Zone Managing Director Michael Schreiber explains “Sky Zone offers an exciting range of trampoline based activities that appeal to a wide market.
“You really need to see it to believe it. It is difficult to envision, however, the experience is remarkable, I have never seen more ecstatic customers."
Sky Zone Australia Group Operations Director Blaise Witnish is also keen to empahise safety, highlighting that Sky Zone Australia is a founding member of the Australian Trampoline Parks Association (ATPA), an industry body formed with three distinct purposes: to develop an Industry standard for design, maintenance and installation, operation, maintenance and inspection of trampoline parks; to maintain safety standards and to protect and promote safety in the industry
As a member of ATPA, Sky Zone parks are independently audited annually to ensure they meet the standards set by the organisation.
Witnish adds “safety is the number one priority for us. We know that if we are to be fortunate enough to be the entertainment of choice for families, we have a responsibility to do that safely.”
From policies that include staff maintaining First Aid training, a 1:20 stafftocustomer supervision ratio, firm limits on what tricks can be attempted and safety rules and requirements published in a variety of places around Sky Zone parks, a huge focus is placed on making sure all customers can enjoy themselves safely.
Since opening Sky Zone Alexandria, the company has held 9,416 children' parties, sold 100,000 slushies at its Altitude cafes, watched 600,000 customers don their SZ grip Socks and seen 1,035,089 jumpers reach new heights.
A statement from Sky Zone concluded “with each new park Sky Zone pushes the boundaries with new innovations and exciting additions to keep the customer entertained. Sky Climb was added to Sky Zone Alexandria in September 2015.”
