Sea World Whale Watch spots 2018 season’s first whale

Sea World Whale Watch spots 2018 season’s first whale
May 28, 2018

The expert team at Sea World Whale Watch launched their Whale Watching season in style at the weekend with guests on-board spotting the first whale of the Gold Coast 2018 season.

As the first of thousands of Humpback Whales arrive off the Gold Coast on the northern leg of their annual migration journey, Sea World Whale Watch’s custom designed Spirit of Migaloo catamaran offers the Gold Coast’s premier whale watching experience.

Sea World Whale Watch Tour Guide, Tacha Mulligan said with about 30,000 whales expected to visit the Gold Coast this year, they are expecting one of the busiest and best whale watching seasons ever.

Mulligan advised wWe were fortunate enough to be treated to a majestic display by a juvenile humpback on our first tour today and the whale certainly kept all guests on-board entertained.

“With large whale numbers passing the Gold Coast this season, there is potential for a memorable encounter with these majestic mammals on every tour.

“Sea World Whale Watch offers guests the ultimate whale watching experience with a strong focus on education and conservation to broaden and deepen the whale watching experience.

“The Gold Coast whale watching season runs from June to November during the annual Humpback Whale migration. The whales migrate along the east coast of Australia on their annual journey to the tropical waters of the Great Barrier Reef to calve and mate.”

The Spirit of Migaloo is designed for maximum passenger comfort and features unique interactive elements and resources including big screens displaying real-time maps and short animated movies about whale anatomy, migration and conservation.

Sea World Whale Watch tours feature advanced educational facilities along with knowledgeable and passionate tour guides to enhance the overall experience of getting up close to the whales.

Tours run daily throughout the whale season, departing at 10.00am and returning at approximately 12.30pm, with a second tour at 2.00pm on scheduled weekends.
