Royal Life Saving and NSC unveil scholarship opportunity for future leaders
May 14, 2024

Royal Life Saving Society - Australia and the organisers of the National Sports and Physical Activity Convention (NSC) have announced a unique scholarship opportunity for up-and-coming leaders in the aquatic industry that will see 10 scholarships offered to exceptional young professionals who attend the 2024 NSC and IAKS Convention on the 27th and 28th of June in Melbourne.

Highlighting the significance of this opportunity, Martin Sheppard, NSC co-founder and Program Curator, advised “attending the NSC IAKS 2024 is an unparalleled chance to expand horizons, network with industry leaders, and gain insights from the forefront of sports and physical activity fields.

Royal Life Saving Chief Executive, Justin Scarr added “this global platform is ideal for those aiming to shape the future of the aquatic sector.

"We are thrilled to support the development of leadership capabilities in young individuals engaged in swimming, lifesaving, and the aquatic industry. Our commitment is to foster a new generation of drowning prevention leaders, and this scholarship contributes to that vision."

The scholarships covers the conference ticket, valued at $1,565, providing access to eight streams, global thought leader sessions, keynotes, debates, and workshops relevant to industry sustainability and community well-being.

Applicants must be under 30 years of age and adhere strictly to the Royal Life Saving Code of Ethics.

The application process requires the completion of this Expression of Interest Form by 11pm Sunday 19th May.

The scholarship does not include travel or accommodation expenses.
