RnB Fridays Live music fans claim ‘worst concert ever’ at Marvel Stadium
Many fans attending the event RnB Fridays Live concert held at Marvel Stadium on Saturday night are claiming that their experience was far from world-class.
When Melbourne Stadiums Limited (MSL) and The Walt Disney Company Australia reached a new naming rights deal in September 2018 that saw the Docklands Stadium named Marvel Stadium, MSL Chief Executive Michael Green said the new partnership was a dynamic step forward for the venue, commenting “Marvel is a powerhouse in the entertainment industry and one of the most recognised brand names in the world.
“It is a brand dedicated to audience experiences, which firmly aligns with our vision to create incredible experiences for fans.
“Over 18-years, we have become the world’s busiest multi-purpose stadium. Now, we look forward to a new era of entertainment for the stadium where we will push the envelope and continue to deliver world-class events and fan engagement.
“This partnership will allow us to take the stadium atmosphere to the next level and create memorable experiences for a vast array of audiences and we look forward to delivering a truly game-changing experience.”
However, many fans attending the event RnB Fridays Live held at Marvel Stadium on Saturday night are claiming that their experience was far from world-class. The event was organised by Frontier Touring and Fox FM. Fans have vented their frustration online through a Facebook group called “RnB live Melbourne robbed us...refund our money” claiming poor sound quality, long wait times for food, drinks and toilets as well as complaining about the safety of the venue.
In a statement to Triple J Hack, Melbourne Stadiums Limited and the event organisers for RnB Fridays Live have said they will be following up all concerns regarding the event:
“RnB Fridays Live event on Saturday night was hugely popular with over 50,000 people attending.
'While some of the concerns raised were addressed on the night, we understand that some of our guests remain dissatisfied by their experience.
"We take patron comments seriously and are following up all concerns regarding Saturday's event."
