REPs releases guide to working as an exercise professional
The New Zealand Register of Exercise Professionals (REPs), with support from both FitnessNZ and the Personal Trainers Council, has just released a new resource for those who are new to, or thinking of, working as an exercise professional.
The guide covers everything from how to get qualified, through to employment and business options, right through to marketing and tax matters for those thinking of operating their own business in the industry.
REPs Registrar Stephen Gacsal explains "this is the one stop shop for getting an overview of what working as an exercise professional is like.
"It's an excellent resource for those thinking of working in the industry, and also those who have just started."
The guide is available from the REPs web site and will also be distributed through leading tertiary education providers and exercise facilities that are registered with REPs.
REPs has also just started its annual re-registration of more than 2,000 New Zealand exercise professionals, and over 150 exercise facilities, as part of the on-going process to ensure exercise professionals and facilities continue to meet the high standards required by REPs to remain registered.
Explaining the re-registration, Gascal adds "those already registered with REPs should have received their packs in the mail already (and) as with previous years, most exercise professionals will find it much easier to re-register online."
