Polynesian Spa luxury experience widens with new mineral pool
Rotorua’s Polynesian Spa has opened a new mineral pool in its Deluxe Lake Spa – giving guests access to both acidic and alkaline mineral waters for ultimate bathing wellness.
The world leading natural mineral bathing and luxury spa treatment destination has four alkaline mineral pools in its Deluxe Lake Spa and the addition of the fifth acidic pool provides a complete rejuvenation experience for bathers.
The acidic mineral water is sourced from the Priest Spring and is popular because it relieves tired muscles, aches and pains. The alkaline water from the Rachael Spring features the antiseptic action of sodium silicate which nourishes the skin. The combination of these two types of mineral waters is only found at Polynesian Spa.
Polynesian Spa Sales and Marketing Manager Simone de Jong says the addition of the acidic pool lifts the Deluxe Lake Spa experience and offers more diversity for bathers, as well as increasing Lake Spa capacity by 20%.
de Jong explains “the pool is tucked away in its own privately landscaped area, complete with a water feature wall and also overlooking the Sulphur Bay Wildlife Reserve and Lake Rotorua - it’s the perfect spot to wind down before a spa therapy.”
All spa therapies include a complimentary soak in the Deluxe Lake Spa mineral pools beforehand to warm up the muscles, soften the skin and relax the mind.
Polynesian Spa offers guests a wide range of spa treatments including Aix spa therapies, body wraps, massage and facials and is renowned for the use of products such as geothermal mud, honey and aromatherapy oils.
As one of New Zealand's oldest international spas, Polynesian Spa has been consistently been recognised as one of the World’s Top Ten Spas (natural/ thermal/medical) by readers of the UK Conde Nast Traveller Magazine – from 2004 to 2007 and in 2009 and 2011.
