PathMinder have launched their new HPJ range of anti-tailgating doors which are designed to stop all forms of unauthorised entry attempts in to 24/7 Gyms.

Designed to stop any tailgating or unauthorised entry attempts through the entry point, the HPJ is a half portal designed to ‘cap’ any existing door that needs to increase its security level.

Featuring a 900mm opening for DDA compliance and is available in a 1400mm and 1900mm wide variant for existing single and double doors, the HPJ can be easily retrofitted to any access controlled door that has tailgating problems.

Creating a two-door interlocking system, the HPJ anti tailgating door has an ‘intelligent’ controller to makes sure only one door is open at a time - thereby restricting access with the highly sophisticated ultra-sonic tailgate detection system scanning the door to ensure only one person gains access.

As a result, if there is more than one person, the second door doesn’t open and unauthorised access is prevented. As standard, the HPJ anti tailgating doors are designed to be burglary resistant and are certified as P1A.

Nicola Luckie of PathMinder explains “unlike simple infra-red or camera based tailgate detection systems which only alert gyms to unauthorised entry after the event, our HPJ anti tailgating doors actually prevent these types of events from happening.”

Luckie says this has five key benefits:

1. Stopping potential trouble makers from entering a gym 
2. Creating a safe environment for members to work out in 
3. Increasing revenue by making people join the gym as opposed to just tailgating in with a mate 
4. Less work for managers in having to research who has entered illegally 
5. Cost savings by not having to be on site all the time 

Luckie adds “additionally, we have found that by using our state of the art ultra-sonic tailgate detection technology as opposed to the easier to defeat IR beam or contact pressure point type solutions, PathMinder anti-tailgating doors will continue to provide effective security.
