read moreSurf Life Saving SA, AUSTSWIM SA and Royal Life Saving SA have advised of the success of the 2024 South Australian Aquatics Conference.
Held on 3rd October, the conference, with theme ‘harnessing the power of collaboration’ in South Australia, saw industry leaders come together to show that the industry, according to Conference Coordinator Stu Ferenci “is stronger together”.
The Conference, staged at the SA Aquatic & Leisure Centre, was opened by South Australian Minister for Recreation, Sport and Racing Katrine Hildyard and followed by keynote presentations from Dr Richard Harris, the Lieutenant Governor of South Australia, and Olympian Brooke Hanson.
Dr Harris is best known for having played a crucial role in the Tham Luang cave rescue in Thailand.
Other sessions saw key leaders, teams and organisations within the aquatics industry network and collaborate on industry issues, water safety, drowning prevention, swimming education and providing safe facilities.
Ferenci noted “we also celebrated the achievements of individuals and organisations making big strides within the South Australian aquatics industry, and we congratulate all award winners who were recognised for their valuable work.
“(In addition) Mock Court International captivated attendees with their inspiring stories and insights on teamwork, collaboration and perseverance.”
