NSW Office of Sport releases guidance on Managing sport surfaces during drought
With sporting fields across much of NSW deteriorating through the current drought, the NSW Office of Sport has released a guidance document on effective management of playing surfaces in dry conditions.
A statement from the Office of Sport advises that “tips (in the document) will assist in making a difference to playing surfaces and will allow local sporting clubs to keep everyone safe.
“The effective management of playing surfaces during drought periods requires strong collaboration and effective communication between councils, facility owners, sports clubs, coaches and sport participants.”
The NSW Office of Sport advise that working together will go a long way to providing better quality surfaces for matches; delivering a safer environment for playing sport and enhancing field durability in the future.
