Northland Event Centre secures new naming rights sponsor
The Northland Events Centre Trust has announced that local Northland company, the Stan Semenoff Group, has been secured as the venue’s new naming rights sponsor.
Advising that the Trust had been looking for a naming rights sponsor to build on its achievement as Northland’s premier events centre, NECT Chairman, Alistair Wells stated "we have a highly successful team, providing a range of different events at the multi-purpose venue
"From iconic events like the Fritter Festival and Christmas Festival, along with international tournaments Rugby World Cup, FIFA U20 World Cup and The British and Irish Lions to attracting a range of New Zealand artists including Six60, Fat Freddy’s Drop, Dave Dobbyn, Tiki Taane and Annie Crummer; we have become an events destination and securing a naming rights sponsor will help us to continue to build on the momentum."
"The Trustees are very pleased to be working with a Northland company with a strong history of many years of community support, particularly for sport, as our naming rights sponsor. A letter of intent has been agreed, and we look forward to a positive and constructive partnership with the Stan Semenoff Group in the coming years," said Mr Wells.
Owner Stan Semenoff said that he is immensely proud of his companies which started from small beginnings and slowly grew over the years, thanks to the hard work of staff and supporters of our local Northland communities.
Being born in Kaitaia and bred in the Hokianga, he sees the importance of ensuring the wellbeing of our regional communities throughout Northland.
He advised "growing up in the era of 'Okara Park' and attending many events and historical moments over the decades, it makes it a privilege to support such a great facility and what it has to offer to Northland as a region."
"With the second generation, Alexander Semenoff, now coming through into our business we’re committed to seeing that Northland continues to grow." "We believe in putting the money back into Northland, for the benefit of Northlanders, and what better way to show it than by announcing our support ahead of Northland Rugby’s first home game of the Mitre 10 Cup season.
"With the Women’s Rugby World Cup coming to the stadium in 2021, it’s a really exciting time to be involved and a great opportunity for us to say 'thank you, Northland'."
