New ownership for Fitness and Health Expos in Australia
US-based Diversified Communications has sold its Australian consumer events portfolio, including the Fitness & Health Expos and the Good Food & Wine Shows, to two of its top executives.
The executives, Matthew Pearce (pictured below), the company’s international director, and Steve Malbourne, its finance director, stepped down to form a new company, Talk2 Media & Events, to buy the Australian shows.
Commenting on the sale Diversified Communications President and Chief Executive Theodore Wirth stated that the sale was “mutually beneficial business decision”, adding “we are pleased that our Australia division can now focus on our trade events, while knowing our consumer events are in the best of hands,”
Based in Melbourne, Talk2 Media & Events have reportedly offered jobs to the staff who helped produce the Fitness & Health Expos and the Good Food & Wine Shows.
Terms of the sale were not disclosed.
The departure of Pearce will mean that Diversified Communications Australia will now be led by David Longman, the division’s general manager.
Diversified Communications is an international media company producing global, national and regional face-to-face events, digital products, publications and television stations serving an array of industries.
