New Ninja Parc attraction opens in Townsville
Australia’s second Ninja Parc obstacle course attraction has opened at Thuringowa Central in north Queensland.
Officially launched last Thursday and opened to the public on Saturday, the centre, at the Thuringowa Wildcatz Indoor Sports Arena, offers ropes, tunnels and other obstacles for guest to climb over, crawl under or jump from.
Combining fun and fitness, Ninja Parcs offer a new way of moving for a wide range of user, from young children through to adults.
Local business owner Jake Rebgetz - whose family runs a number of sports-related businesses in Townsville including Wildcats Indoor Sports centre, Sk8way Townsville and Inflatable Kingdom - said Ninja Parc would appeal to a wide range of people, from young children through to adults.
He advised “we like being active and getting other people active and (if you are) fit enough, you can do it.”
Ninja Parc is the brainchild of fitness entrepreneur John Pirlo who saw a need to create an outlet for fun. A place that made this the number one priority, with fitness and the development of new skills and abilities succeeding this. Since opening its first location in Newcastle in mid-2017, Ninja Parc has been able to not only deliver on fun to the local community, but it has also bridged the gap for many, connecting them to a form of physical fitness that they can enjoy and feel confident in doing.
Pirlo advises “nothing makes us happier than seeing kids and adults of all ages on the Ninja Parc obstacle course with a smile on their face. We’ve seen young girls gain the confidence that comes from understanding what your body can do; adults who thought they’d forgotten how to have fun rediscovering joy; and families having a reason to have some good, healthy fun together.
“Ninja Parc has changed the way people look at moving. We’re already seeing thousands of people in Townsville get behind our opening, knowing it will be great for their city.”
The new Ninja Parc offers a general indoor obstacle course, fitness classes for adults and children, parkour, birthday parties, school programs, holidays clinics and corporate events.
Rebgetz added “it’s pretty much like Ninja Warrior on TV.”
