New holistic wellness studio opens in Sydney’s Neutral Bay

Opening today, a new wellness and training studio in the Sydney suburb of Neutral Bay is looking to offer a new type of “luxury, holistic fitness” experience studio.

In the heart of Sydney’s north shore, Embody is, according to a statement, “a new game-changing studio offering a fusion of fitness and wellness with a wide selection of classes, holistic personal training and intimate group training, nutrition options and mindfulness.

“Here you can practice, learn and gather with a like-minded community, in our exquisite, eco-conscious, elegant, sustainable, considered space, which is unlike anything else in Australia - here you can leave the everyday behind.

“As well as experiencing the very best in holistic fitness and wellness, Embody promises to indulge you from the moment you arrive with complimentary luxe extras including member towels, welcoming green and chai teas, refreshing fruit water, chilled cooling towels for workouts, eco-friendly hair products, luxury natural beauty products, best in class hairdryers and GHD straightening irons, to phone and mobile device charging stations.”

Emdody classes focus on physical, mental and emotional fitness, offering yoga through to personal-training sessions with monthly food education seminars, which are hosted by an in-house nutritionist.

Embody co-founder Scott Capelin is on a mission to connect people’s minds, bodies and souls and to help them unplug from day-to-day life, in luxurious surrounds.

He explains “we want society to understand that true health radiates from the inside out and includes having a strong, calm mind as well as a sculpted, toned physique.”

Capelin is also confident his approach of fusing yoga, Pilates and resistance training is more valuable than doing each element separately.

He adds “traditional yoga, Pilates and resistance training have been seen as mutually exclusive practices, however, at Embody we’ve fused them.

“I feel that certain disciplines alone don’t complete the overall health and wellness picture for any one individual.”

High quality fittings in the studio, designed by Shaynna Blaze, include live-plant walls; sandstone and gold finishes; polished plaster; and marble bathrooms. The brief was to design a space that keeps the environment in mind, from the bamboo floors, walls and ceilings, to the non-toxic paint, recycled rubber, eco-friendly cleaning products and bamboo towels.

Embody’s therapeutic approach to fitness is also a point of difference, with Capelin concluding “mainstream exercise has traditionally been about smashing yourself, having sore muscles, reducing calories, sweating, burning energy, taking away, depleting, dieting and depriving … Embody is about filling up, replenishing, recharging, nourishing and giving back to your mind and body.”
