read moreA new brand of indoor attraction and unique entertainment facility is set to open in the Sydney suburb of Alexandria in late June.
To be located alongside a range of other attractions in the Sydney Corporate Park, the new AttracTivity facility will feature a variety of attractions, several of which will be making their debut in an Australian attraction.
AttracTivity will offer a Scarefactory animatronic haunted house; an XD Theatre from Triotech of Montreal as well as tenpin bowling lanes; a ropes climbing course; dodgem track and the fast moving laser tag game of Lazer Frenzy.
Complimenting these unique attractions will be a redemption amusement game area and a redemption store that will provide a variety of prizes earned through an accumulated points system developed specially for AttracTivity by Intercard Inc of the USA.
Incorporated within the entertainment centre will be two large function rooms for corporate groups, birthday party rooms and a casual F&B space called The Munchery.
The new attraction has been developed by Roy Menachemson, former Chief Executive Development for Ardent Leisure and Chief Executive of the AMF bowling chain in Australia.
Introducing the new attraction, Menachemson explains “our goal in developing this unique centre is to provide the public with unique leisure experiences all contained within one indoor facility that spans across broad demographics from kids as young as five through to young socials who are looking for a very different evening leisure outing in an environment that is both exciting and relaxed.
“AttracTivity, as its name implies, hosts attractions and activities that seek to entertain, thrill and provide a variety of choices to suit all tastes and abilities.
“The Munchery which is our casual dining restaurant will be complimented by a unique Bar set in an environment that is more adult oriented with LED pool tables and pinball machines in a lounge style setting that will offer comfort, style and a great place to socialise with friends.
“We are very focused on ‘mood’ and have built into our design the ability to change the mood settings - music and lighting - according to the customer expectations so our daytime mood will be accentuated towards kids and teenagers whilst our night time mood will suit more of the young social set.
“AttracTivity will not charge an entry price and, in fact, would seek to welcome curious onlookers.
“Charges will both be levied on an individual attraction use or through the less expensive option of purchasing a suite of attractions.
“Management will not ‘time charge’ patrons so there will be no pressure to complete the Attractions within a given period of time.”
Menachemson emphasises that AttracTivity’s focus will be to cater for families and children, in an unhurried, easy accessible manner while also, at different times, being appropriate for young adults and corporate groups.
When operational, all of AttracTivity’s attractions and games will be accessed through a ‘tap and go’ RFID card that can be purchased with the guest’s desired value.
The company led by Roy Menachemson boasts experts with strong leisure experience.
Customer Services Director Betty Dyas is project managing the development, with the completed facility to be managed by Lloyd Klaman – who previously worked with the YMCA and as NSW State Manager for AMF Bowling.
Finance Director John Ryan was formerly Chief Financial Officer and Chief Operating Officer for AMF Bowling Centres while team member Len Bober is a recognised world expert on amusement games and a veteran of this industry.
Technical skills are being provided by Scott McGibbon.
AttracTivity has also assembled an extremely powerful Advisory Board with membership comprising:
• Richard Errington - Chief Executive of Rooty Hill RSL Club and a leading figure in the F&B and events;
• Greg Symonds - joint Chief Executive of Society One (the peer to peer lending business) and a recognised world authority on information technology;
• Professor Simon Darcy - Professor Simon Darcy - renowned author and researcher from the University of Technology Sydney Business School's Management Discipline Group & Cosmopolitan Civil Societies Research Centre who specialises in the experience industries;
• Alan Kavnat – entrepreneur and former partner in the BowlAustralia Group
Menachemson concludes “we have set up the business to achieve our principle objective of creating an environment that offers customers a unique blend of attractions within a single facility complimented by a great food and beverage offering.”
