Minister to present Australian Health & Fitness Awards
October 12, 2011

Federal Minister for Small Business, Senator Hon Nick Sherry has confirmed his attendance at the 2011 Australian Health and Fitness Industry Awards, presented by Fitness Australia, to be held in Brisbane this Friday (14th October) at Hilton Brisbane.

Senator Sherry will be the guest of honour at the event and will present the highly prestigious national Awards for Personal Training Business, Fitness Business over 2000 members and Fitness Business under 2000 members.

Fitness Australia Chief Executive Lauretta Stace explained "in his role as Minister for Small Business, Senator Sherry has demonstrated a keen interest in the fitness industry and the diversity of the market it encompasses. We are therefore thrilled that he has accepted our invitation to be part of this event, which recognises the achievements of the best in our industry."

Stace said that Fitness Australia was delighted to receive the support of Senator Sherry and his recognition that the fitness industry offers many opportunities for small businesses to develop and thrive.

The Gala Awards will be attended by the state and territory award winners already recognised for quality service, innovation, community connection and commitment to industry standards, and who will be eager to learn if they have won the coveted national award in their category.
