Luna Park Sydney wins International Innovation Award

Luna Park Sydney wins International Innovation Award
November 19, 2010

Luna Park Sydney has won the International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions (IAAPA)'s Brass Ring Award for 'Most Innovative Program'.

The Award, presented on Wednesday evening at IAAPA International Attractions Expo in Orlando, Florida was for the Luna Parkâs Superhero Training Program - identified by the association as a creative and innovative approach to presenting information that reinforces the culture, branding, images and themes of Luna Park and one that creates memorable guest experiences.

The Superhero Training and Mentoring Program developed by Park Manager Brad Loxley, won the award over a number of competing international finalists including Six Flags, Universal Studios, Sea World USA, Busch Gardens, Legoland and the new Ferrari World in the Abu Dhabi.

Commenting on receiving the award, Luna Park Sydney Managing Director Peter Hearne stated "we are thrilled that Luna Park has won such a prestigious industry award amongst these illustrious international theme parks. The Superhero Training Program offers an extremely high attention to detail when it comes to guest satisfaction which is unprecedented amongst more mainstream attractions."

The Superhero Program was developed in order to maximise guest satisfaction, generate positive word of mouth, develop brand loyalty and drive repeat visitation. To ensure âsuperhero serviceâ, the ground team are responsible for creating memories at every customer touch-point and deliver a positive attitude and exceptionally high level of safety, service and experience.

The Brass Ring Awards are the most prestigious awards within the worldwide attractions industry that honour organisations who have developed quality human resource programs which have made their facilities great places to work and visit. For the first year, the Brass Ring Awards expanded its scope to recognise excellence in multiple disciplines, including marketing, merchandising, human resources and entertainment with new categories including souvenir development and display, employee training and motivational programs, best new product and best exhibit at IAAPA Attractions Expo 2010.

Ripley's Entertainment trade show exhibit at the IAAPA International Attractions Expo won IAAPA's 'Image Award' for the best booth in the Expo hall.

Ripley Entertainment Inc., the caretaker of the venerable Believe It or Not! branded attractions and books, Guinness World Records Museums, Louis Tussaud's Wax Museums, Ripley' Aquariums, and many more family friendly brands topped more than 1,100 other exhibitors at the world's largest amusement industry trade show to win the award.
