Luke Daly announced as ASSA’s new Chief Executive

Luke Daly announced as ASSA’s new Chief Executive
May 24, 2024

The Australian Swim Schools Association (ASSA) has this afternoon announced Luke Daly as their new Chief Executive.

The announcement of Daly’s new role at ASSA follows the announcement earlier this week of his departure from Swimming Pool & Spa Association (SPASA) Australia where he held a number of roles including CIO and, most recently, Chief Operating Officer.

Daly joins ASSA as Emily McNeill (pictured below) departs after eight years as General Manager.

Throughout his six year tenure at SPASA, Daly was responsible for the design and development of a portfolio of member, industry, and consumer-facing assets, tools and resources that have helped, grow, protect and promote the pool and spa industry.

In a statement released this afternoon, ASSA noted that Daly is well positioned “to oversee the next phase of development of ASSA, reinforcing our standing as a strong, stable and sustainable industry body and guiding us toward additional growth. He is a welcome and strategically important addition to our organisation.

“As outgoing GM, Emily’s legacy is marked by strong leadership, dedication and drive. She has been instrumental in shaping the direction and success of the Association since its inception.”

Daly advised “the strength of ASSA’s position in the aquatics industry is in no small part thanks to Emily’s contribution. I’m grateful for the work she has done to this point and excited to take the helm and oversee the next stage of growth and development.”

The role transition will take place over the coming months, with Daly finishing in his role at SPASA on 31st May and commencing in his new role with ASSA on 10th June.

McNeill’s departure is scheduled for after the ASSA National Conference 20th-22nd August 2024, where she embarks on her new journey as Global Partnership Executive for the International Swim School Association (ISSA).

Reece Rackley, ASSA President shared “we would like to take this time to thank Emily for the passion and commitment she has consistently shown and for her substantial contribution to the successful development and management of ASSA over the last 8 years.

“On behalf of the ASSA Board, I thank Emily for the amazing job she has done growing resources and membership for ASSA while showcasing the Association through its world class conferences. We wish her every success in her future endeavours and excited to see her grow the International Swim School market with a bold goal to Teach the World to Swim”.
