Lorna Jane celebrates Active Nation Day in 12 countries
The growing popularity of Active Nation Day, which encourages a collective step towards healthier lifestyles, saw the event marked in Australia, USA, Hong Kong, the Phillipines, Malaysia, South Africa, Finland, United Arab Emirates, Netherlands, Sweden, France and Mexico.
Held on Sunday 28th September, the event is part of active wear brand Lorna Jane's Move Nourish Believe (MNB) campaign. It challenges pariticapents to let their actions do the talking and inspire their family, friends and co-workers to kick start healthier habits.
A series of Active Nation Day events in Australian capital cities attracted 1,865 particapants: 600 in Brisbane, 400 in Sydney, 500 in Melbourne, 231 in Adelaide and 134 in Perth.
Lorna Jane founder and Chief Creative Officer Lorna Jane Clarkson (pictured below) said she is passionate about encouraging the country to participate in Active Nation Day, stating "Active Nation Day is a priceless opportunity ... to acknowledge the importance of living healthy and active lives.”
Participants in Active Nation Day can record their movement on Lorna Jane's iPhone app that tracks users' runs, walks and cycles via GPS.
Once the user has completed each workout, they can visit microsite NOWMOVEIT.COM to track their movements and the progress of their friends and the nation, via an interactive map that illustrates the Day's activities.
Active Nation Day also attracted significant social media engagement:
• 1,500 new Instagram followers on Sunday 28th September alone
• 2,000+ images added to #lornajane on the day
• 2.600+ images added to #activenationday on the day
• Active Nation Day video watched over 22,900 times and received 174,000+ impressions
• #LJMOVE video watched over 33,700 times and received over 200,000 impressions

• LJ App ranked number nine in free apps category
• LJ App usage in over 45 countries
• Over 26,000 LJ App sessions on Sunday 28th September (compared to 10,000 last year)
Lorna Jane's Active Nation Day was catalysed by a study conducted with Roy Morgan Research exposing a shocking disconnect between Australian attitudes and actual behaviours towards leading a healthy lifestyle.
Active Nation Day also links with Lorna Jane's women's empowerment MNB philosophy.
