Les Mills reveals ‘virtual’ as their fastest growing fitness solution
October 6, 2016

Virtual fitness is one of the fastest growing sectors in the fitness industry, according to Les Mills, with Les Mills Virtual quickly starting to gain momentum in Australia and across South East Asia region.

Les Mills estimates that there are more than 12,000 clubs globally that have a Virtual offer and the group fitness leaders expects to see these numbers double in the next 24 months.

Les Mills’ popular programs are now available to play digitally in fitness clubs and facilities, providing participants with a group exercise fix at any time of the day or night.

Les Mills BODYPUMP, BODYCOMBAT, BODYBALANCE, CXWORX, SH’BAM and RPM and their leading-edge choreography, chart-topping music and inspirational instructors, classes are all available virtually.

Les Mills works with a number of technology partners to bring the solution to each club and recommends a darkened room, a large screen (projector or LED) and a pumping sound system to complete the set-up.

Virtual classes are filmed with a live audience, which gives the video content a great atmosphere. Les Mills uses the same film crews that are used for international sporting events and music videos and films using multiple cameras and the best instructors.

Participants receive proper instruction on safety and technique as each Les Mills Virtual class is based on Masterclass content and features additional safety guidelines at the start of the workout.

Les Mills Asia Pacific Sales and Marketing Director Matthew Spandow said Les Mills Virtual means clubs can extend class schedules into shoulder and off peak hours, maintaining participant motivation and engaging even more people with the Les Mills experience.

Spandow explained “the number one -controllable factor when members choose a fitness service provider is timetable offerings – so virtual solutions allow a facility to be very competitive in this space.

“These classes also allow new participants to gain confidence and learn the moves before stepping into live classes. Consumer research tells us newbies felt more confident attending a live class after practising in a virtual environment, resulting in increased live class attendance.”
