Leading sport industry tour operator offers behind-the-scenes view of top US venues
March 23, 2017

The opportunity for industry professionals to learn the latest global trends around innovation and technology through a guided tour of leading US stadiums, arenas and venues is being offered by Hype Tours, supported by Australasian Leisure Management.

Running from 28th July to 6th August, the Global Venues Tour will take a group of 15 Australian and New Zealand professionals to the US to gain actionable insights from world-leading venues, aiming to equip the tour group with knowledge to excel within a competitive environment.

Hype Tours have been running unique behind the scenes tours for Australasian sports fans since 2010 taking many of the world’s leading stadiums, arenas, and venues allowing guests to see first hand some of the latest trends and benchmarks.

For the upcoming US venues tour, Hype Tours Director Aaron Ford explains “visiting a wide range of venues across the US continues to be an amazing eye opener every year. The innovation and technology in the U.S stadiums and arenas is certainly cutting edge, and will be exciting to see how this continues to influence the Australian market”.

Hype Tours hosted former Fremantle Dockers General Manager Strategic Projects and now Perth Stadium Chief Operating Officer Brad Paatsch in the USA, which included a private tour of the LA Lakers practice facility.

Paatsch explains “meeting with the LA Lakers and visiting their facilities was really valuable and certainly helped shape some key ideas for the $109  million Cockburn ARC elite training and administration and community facility in the City of Cockburn, inclusive of the home of the Fremantle Dockers".

Proposed venues for the tour (subject to confirmation) include:

• Los Angeles/California – Golden 1 Centre, Staples Centre, LA Live, Levi’s Stadium
• Atlanta – Mercedes Benz Stadium, Suntrust Park, Georgia Dome
• New York – Madison Square Garden, Barclay Center, MetLife Stadium

The Global Venues Tour will also have an underlying theme around collaboration and will encourage professionals to push the boundaries of lateral thinking. In addition, the tour will offer interaction with a variety of experts, sharing best practices within this fast paced industry, and learning from international leaders shaping the latest industry benchmarks around:

The tour will also enable participants to end their trip with attendance at Venue Connect 2017, the International Association of Venue Managers (IAVM) annual Conference, being held in Nashville, Tennessee from 7th to 10th August.

This powerful networking platform is the only industry conference that provides targeted education created specifically for venue professionals.

There are 15 places available.
