Achieved in the space of just five months, 225,000 members of 84 Zap Fitness clubs in Australia and 53 Jetts gyms in New Zealand are now able to access their gyms 24/7 with a simple tap of their mobile phone.
The new functionality - which integrates into the brands’ respective mobile phone apps - not only streamlines the experience for existing members on each visit but also simplifies the joining process for new members.
Specifically, the new digital access feature allows new members to sign up, join their chosen club and start their fitness journey within minutes - all through a seamless mobile experience.
The rollout was completed just four weeks ago, but 93% of the member base is already using the new functionality, with 1.73 million entries via digital access logged to date.
Commenting on the successful rollout, FLG Chief Executive and Group Managing Director, Greg Oliver stated “we are thrilled to offer this cutting-edge technology to our members and new joiners.
“This rollout underscores our unwavering commitment to innovation and evolution of the member journey wherever we see opportunities to add value. We are all very accustomed to ‘tap on, tap off’ on public transport, for example. Why shouldn’t it be just as easy to access your gym?”
Oliver went on to say "with the introduction of 24/7 digital access, we are ensuring that every interaction with Jetts New Zealand and Zap Fitness is simple, efficient, convenient and perfectly aligned with the brands' values of progress and inclusivity.
“We are now preparing to expand digital access to our other health club brands in Australia.”
Led by FLG’s in-house development team, the rollout also involved a complete building management system upgrade and a complete duress device and system upgrade to ensure member security.
