The Forum has become a staple in IAKS ANZ’s events calendar and this year once again drew a full house bringing together leading minds in architecture, high-performance sport, and community infrastructure to explore the theme ‘Designing for High Performance and Community Needs’.
With an expert panel including Todd Greenberg (Chief Executive Cricket Australia) and surprise addition Sue McGill (Australian Sports Commission), the event sparked vibrant discussion, new connections, and enthusiastic feedback from those in the room - with many remarking they left inspired and wanting more.
“We’ve barely scratched the surface of what’s possible when we bring these sectors together,” noted Anthony Neal, Director Libraries, Recreation and Waterways City of Melbourne, and panel host.
Irina Akhmanova (Populous) and IAKS International Member also sat on the panel and shared “the feedback has been overwhelmingly positive, and it’s clear there’s a strong appetite for deeper conversations and ongoing collaboration.”
Attendees praised the evening for its engaging panel format, thought-provoking discussion, and opportunities for networking. The event highlighted emerging trends, challenges, and opportunities in designing sports and leisure facilities that meet both elite and grassroots needs.
IAKS ANZ thanked all partners, and guests for contributing to the night’s energy and success - and are already planning future opportunities to build on the momentum.
IAKS ANZ also gave special mention to their panellists: Warrick Chalmers, Anthony Neal, Mike McGrath, Sue McGil, Todd Greenberg, John Tuxworth and Irina Akhmanova.
Yvette Audet, IAKS ANZ Chair added “this forum reaffirmed our role in connecting experts and elevating conversations around quality sport and recreation infrastructure in Australia and New Zealand. We’re excited for what’s next.”
