read moreHamilton City Council will be undertaking a tender for a pool investor/operator, as part of the overall civic and private development of the Rototuna Village area in the rapidly growing area north-east area of the city.
Hamilton City Council has previously budgeted just under $20 million for the development of the Rototuna community hub and library, village square, active play, landscaping and car parking, with a 2200 metre² area of land also earmarked for an indoor swimming pool and associated facilities.
The tender will invite suitably qualified operators to propose solutions to purchase or lease land, fund, build and operate a swimming pool and associated leisure and commercial facilities in Rototuna. The primary goal of this tender is to establish at least an indoor 25 metre x 6 lane swimming pool to cater for year-round aquatic education for children, families and schools as well as also offering lap swimming.
Additional aquatic and leisure facilities may also be provided based on the tenderer's business plan.
The tender is currently scheduled to open in early September and close in mid-October 2019.
Interested parties are asked to register early interest by emailing Natasha.ryan@hcc.govt.nz.
